Schumacher, the celebrated American textile house, has collaborated with the popular, young interior designer, Celerie Kemble, on an exciting new collection of colorful wovens and prints now being introduced for Fall 2008. Celerie has produced a series of highly refined traditional designs and textures with broad appeal to today’s increasingly sophisticated generation. She has deftly combined classic looks with very modern details and geometric patterning, using unexpected metallic finishes, exotic touches such as ikats and embroidery as well as glamorous moiré, silk, and velvet -- all in a rich and sophisticated color palette of saturated hues and subtle neutrals. Celerie calls her collection for Schumacher “uniquely suited to a wide mix of modern tastes and styles -- vintage, contemporary, and traditional -- that very much reflects my approach to interior design. This is the kind of design that my own clientele is increasingly looking for and that I wanted to bring to my first collection for Schumacher.” In discussing the Celerie Kemble collection, Schumacher brand president and general manager Corinne Kevorkian says, “We were thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Celerie. Her bold, yet refined approach reflects styling that manages to be both timeless and very much of the moment -- just the balance that we see as vital in today’s evolving market.” Based in Florida and New York, Celerie Kemble’s interior design work has been widely published in the US and internationally. Her first book, “To Your Taste: Creating Modern Rooms with a Traditional Twist” from Clarkson N. Potter is being published in November and features the Celerie Kemble Collection for Schumacher.
